GET/INT: INT (Institut National Des Télécommunications) belongs to Groupe des Ecoles des Télécommunications which is an Education and Research public establishment in the field of Information and Communications Sciences and Technologies. For about a decade, INT developed a research activity on the application of new technologies to favour the integration of disabled people. In 1994, a High Technology Platform has been created in the Rehabilitation Hospital Raymond Poincare, in Garches, near Paris. In 1998 Handicom Lab (Handicap Engineering & Communication Lab.) was created in INT. The aim is to confirm the research activities in the field of assistive technologies and evaluate their accessibility and usage. The, research programme of this Lab is to help the integration of assistive technologies to compensate disabled and elderly, people through the following areas:

• Pervasive computing for assistive environment;
• Rehabilitation robotics;
• Evaluation of Usage and develop new services for peoples with disabilities;
• Improve the human machine interaction by the mean of user modelling (physical disabilities).

Handicom Lab will participate in the definition of the user profile and user needs in WP1, and in the technical development in WP2 & WP3.
